Two pro-Biafra activists have been arrested in London for leading a protest to confront President Muhammadu Buhari, who in the United Kingdom for an anti-corruption summit.
The men were arrested on Friday, May 13, after they confronted Buhari to demand the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
A BBC journalist, Will Ross, wrote on twitter that the activists were arrested by UK Police.
“Nigerian men protesting for Independence for Biafra arrested close to Buckingham Palace,” Ross tweeted.
Kanu, who is facing multiple charges including treason and terrorism, is being remanded in a Nigerian prison as his trial is ongoing.
