Following the commissioning of the Autogas Scheme by the federal government; the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, has identified that the Autogas constitute natural and petroleum gas.
The potential price of the autogas was not disclosed; even though Timpire Syva stated that his Ministry under his watch is presently deliberating the price of the autogas.
The autogas Scheme which was initiated to create an expansion in gas production nationwide. In the course of the event,the Minister noted that autogas is more economical to use compared to Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol.
The NNPC autogas station was also commissioned in Abuja, under the National Gas Expansion Programme and National Auto-gas Roll-out Initiative.
Albeit present at the event alongside Mr Timipre Sylva, was NNPC’ boss Mr Mele Kyari who made it known that Autogas contains both Compressed Natural Gas and Liquefied Petroleum Gas.
During the programme, the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, also commissioned five buses that run on autogas and handed them over to the Nigeria Labour Congress and promised to donate 100 more buses to the union.
