Mr Bode Towoju, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that Nigeria will overcome the security challenges posed by insurgents.
.
Towoju said in a statement, made available in Abuja on Tuesday, that all hands must be on deck to fight the menace.
.
He called on politicians to cooperate with the government to fight the insurgents.
.
Towoju commended the effort of the security agents in curtailing the insurgency and called on the Federal Government to motivate the solders.
.
He said the issue of insurgency was beyond party politics, adding that all Nigerians must rise up and stop further destruction of lives and property by the Boko Haram.
.
Towoju said pointing accusing fingers at a particular political party, without the necessary fact to support the claim, was inimical to the country.
.
Towoju said that fighting insurgency should be a collective responsibility of all Nigerians, irrespective of party affiliation as it affected the generality of Nigerians.
.
Towoju, however, called on politicians across the country to always put the interest of the nation above any selfish one capable of heating up the polity.
.
He called for concerted efforts to ensure that the insurgents were stopped, adding that this was the only way Nigerians across party lines would enjoy democratic dividends.
.
The APC chieftain said that no politician who had the interest of the people at heart would think of profiting from the killings going on in some parts of the country.
