For failing to apply for “pre-hearing” notice, the Delta State governorship election tribunal denied the petition of the Labour Party’s candidate, according to a report by Infostride News.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and his followers are ecstatic about this.
The state capital of Asaba is home to the tribunal that dismissed the Labour Party’s case this morning.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has claimed that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s appeal is based on law and facts rather than emotion.
Mr. Valentine Onojeghuo, APC Publicity Secretary in Delta State, has said he is confident the courts would do right by Omo-Agege and return the people’s mandate from the “temporary placeholder” to its true owner.
You can feel the real anxiety that has consumed the opposition PDP, he remarked, and the behavior of our lawyers at the tribunal bears this up.
Aside from that, he said, “Every Deltan knows that we won the governorship election but for the criminal conspiracy perpetrated against the choice of the people.”
Some Labour Party members have advocated appealing the tribunal’s decision to the Court of Appeal.
