Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has demanded that former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike’s confirmation as a minister be withdrawn.
The statement was signed by the ex-National Publicity Secretary of the now-defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) on Wednesday.
He thinks that President Bola Tinubu’s nomination of Wike as minister, as well as the vetting and confirmation of his candidacy by the Senate, “is an affront to decency,” because “facts on him do not qualify him as a character that merits such an office.”

“reports and fact-filled opinions on the non-qualification of the former governor to hold public office in the country,” Eze said, “have been ignored by the President.”
He claimed that the former governor was singled out for indictment in the European Union Election Observation Report for the 2023 election, which covered the months of February and March.
“Such imposition at a time the country is struggling to redeem her electorally battered image and reclaim credibility within the international community is, to say the least, ridiculous,” he continued.
