Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed his dedication to empowering the youth of his state, and he has stated that his administration is actively putting in place mechanisms to help young people maximise their potentials.
As part of celebrations for 2023 International Youth Day, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode said in a message signed by his spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, that young people are the future and should be invested in and protected.
He praised the initiative, ingenuity, and potential of the state’s young people, noting that the event’s theme of “Youth: Shaping Our Future” reflected the administration’s commitment to youth improvement.

He declared that new measures being taken by his administration will help young people attain the necessary growth and better prepare them for the future by modifying existing policy on youth development.
In addition to the assessment of policies, Adeleke said his administration has created a climate agenda with young people at its core.
The Governor has stated that young people and women will play crucial roles in the execution of the state’s new climate policy being developed by his Climate Advisory Council.
“On this International Youth Day, I celebrate the incredible potentials of our young people and reaffirm my commitment to their developments,” it said.
“As a government, we have shown our commitment to young people by providing them with numerous opportunities to serve in a variety of positions. In addition, we’re developing a broader strategy to give young people a voice in the decisions that will affect our future.
As stated by the state governor, “soon, we will begin the implementation of the many recommendations by the Youth Advisory Council put up shortly after last year’s election, and it promises to be a masterstroke in our desire to drive progress and transformation for youth in Osun state.”
He urged young people to avoid engaging in illegal behaviour that would harm others and instead focus on their talents, particularly their ability to think creatively, in order to make important contributions to the growth and sustainable development of society.
