Abia State Governor Alex Otti has urged his opponents in the People’s Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress to invest the funds they are using to sue him in the rural infrastructure development.
In light of his recent victory at the election petition tribunal, Otti has called on the opposition parties to put aside their differences and work together with him to advance the State.
My adversaries should put away their swords and work with me to build up our state of Abia at this time.

No matter how you look at it, court cases are quite expensive. Although he did not directly request that they bring the funds to him, he did suggest that they use them to improve infrastructure in their own communities. “Each of them has villages that are dilapidating; without roads, without water,” he said.
He suggested that, instead of spending money on a legal battle, his opponents should invest in projects like installing piped water and keeping the calm in Abia.
He said that the win never should have been contested and expressed relief that the people’s will had been granted.
The Governor said, “If you follow the election and everything that happened afterwards, you would know that quite frankly this victory shouldn’t have been contested in the first place.”
Otti thanked God for the win and vowed to keep serving the Abians with all his heart.
It was previously reported that the Umuahia governorship election petitions tribunal had rejected challenges to Labour Party candidate Governor Otti’s victory on Friday from the People’s Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress, on behalf of their respective candidates Okechukwu Ahaiwe and Ikechi Emenike.
The three-person panel deliberated for approximately seven hours before dismissing the petitions for lack of competence and substance.
