The 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Jalingo has announced its preparedness to eliminate bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements causing unrest in Taraba State.
Major General Frank Etim, the Brigade Commander, made this declaration during the West African Social Activities (WASA) 2023 event held in Jalingo on Thursday, which brought together the Combined 6 Brigade and 114 Battalion (Rear).
Etim assured the public of the brigade’s strong commitment to providing robust security for the state’s residents.

He expressed gratitude to the local community for their cooperation and prompt reporting of criminal activities.
The Brigade Commander also thanked the state government for its support in effectively responding to security threats.
Encouraging officers and soldiers within the brigade to intensify their efforts, Etim emphasized the importance of WASA as a recognition of their achievements in the past year.
He commended the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for his leadership and thanked Major General Abdulsalami Abubakar, GOC of the 3 Armoured Division Jos, for assisting the brigade in securing the state’s citizens promptly and effectively.
In response, the state governor, Agbu Kefas, praised the brigade for its efforts in addressing insecurity in the state.
Represented by Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Alkali, Kefas attributed the current peace to the dedicated efforts of the Nigerian Army, highlighting the crucial role of a secure environment in promoting peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic groups.
While urging the army to intensify its efforts in tackling security challenges, Kefas assured the public that the government had implemented significant measures to enhance security operations.
