The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a warning to all parties involved in the upcoming February 3, 2024 by-elections to avoid actions that could lead to a breakdown of law and order.
In a statement released on Friday, Peter Afunanya, the Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications at the DSS National Headquarters in Abuja, urged public commentators, social critics, and stakeholders in the public sphere to prioritize the peace and stability of the country over their personal or group interests.
The DSS emphasized its commitment to collaborating with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), other security and law enforcement agencies, and all stakeholders to ensure a smooth and peaceful election process.

Afunanya reassured the public that the DSS would continue to implement proactive measures to maintain stability in the country.
He also warned individuals involved in subversive activities or planning such actions to cease their activities, as the DSS would not hesitate to ensure that offenders, regardless of their status, face the full force of the law.
