The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are at odds over the security alarm raised by Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding alleged plans by hoodlums to attack schools and farm settlements in the state.
Governor Adeleke, citing intelligence reports, revealed plans to attack schools and carry out abductions, as well as target farm settlements.
He emphasized that he had convened a security council meeting to address the situation.

In response, the APC, through its state chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, accused the governor of creating a false panic regarding security in the state.
Lawal expressed disappointment in the governor’s actions, stating that it was unfortunate for a governor to divert the public’s attention.
Lawal criticized Adeleke, stating, “Governor Adeleke should focus on delivering the quality governance he promised the people during his campaign instead of creating a diversionary agenda.”
He further added, “The alleged security threat is a ploy to divert attention from discussing his N100bn project when hunger is prevalent in the state.”
On the other hand, the state PDP chairman, Sunday Bisi, condemned the APC’s denial of security threats in the state, describing it as inhumane, unpatriotic, and delusional.
Bisi commended Governor Adeleke for his proactive stance on security issues and for convening the security council meeting.
He criticized the APC for politicizing the issue and playing games with the lives and properties of the people.
Bisi emphasized the PDP government’s commitment to delivering on social programs aimed at restoring the state from years of underdevelopment.
