The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has expressed deep concerns over the resurgence of terrorism and worsening security challenges in northern Nigeria, alongside the nation’s deteriorating economy.
In a statement by its National Vice Chairman for the North-West, Abba Sule Namatazu, the PRP described the insecurity in parts of the north as alarming.
Namatazu criticized the Federal Government’s approach to engaging in dialogue with terrorists, stating that such negotiations only embolden violent groups.

“Vast tracts of productive farmland across the North-East, North-West, and North-Central regions remain abandoned, resulting in a severe food crisis nationwide.
The PRP believes all stakeholders must collaborate to address this issue urgently,” Namatazu said.
The party also rejected the Federal Government’s proposal to privatize public higher education institutions. Namatazu warned against the policy, emphasizing its potential harm to the common man.
“PRP, alongside other concerned Nigerians, will resist any attempt to privatize public schools, which many of our current and former leaders once attended.
This policy undermines the common man and basic common sense,” he added.
Namatazu further criticized the disparity in educational opportunities, accusing Nigerian leaders of sending their children to elite foreign institutions while millions of Nigerian children struggle for basic education and survival.
On tax reforms, the PRP acknowledged their significance but urged the Federal Government to involve professionals in the process.
“Taxation is a national issue that requires careful handling. All stakeholders must be involved to ensure its success,” Namatazu concluded.
