A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has expressed concern over the apparent fallout between President Bola Tinubu and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Igbokwe, in a post on his Facebook page, described Tinubu and El-Rufai as once being “great, committed friends and associates” and questioned what went wrong between them.
“I am still asking what went wrong between these two committed, great friends and associates.

It should not have been allowed to happen in the first place,” he wrote. “What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.”
His comments come amid growing tensions between El-Rufai and the APC-led administration. The former governor recently criticized the ruling party, claiming that it no longer practices internal democracy and has deviated from its founding principles.
At an event in Abuja, El-Rufai stated that he no longer recognizes the APC due to what he described as a decline in leadership and governance standards.
His remarks have sparked mixed reactions, with Reno Omokri, a vocal supporter of President Tinubu, condemning El-Rufai. Omokri accused the former governor of orchestrating violence in Kaduna State during his tenure, describing him as a “bloodthirsty tyrant” who took pleasure in the suffering of residents.
Meanwhile, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka dismissed El-Rufai’s claims, stating that the former governor failed in managing his affairs and should not blame the party for his shortcomings.
