The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has cautioned billionaires in Anambra State against using their wealth to destabilize the party ahead of its governorship primary scheduled for April 5, 2025.
Ganduje assured that the ruling party would conduct a free, fair, and transparent primary election.
He made this known on Tuesday in Abuja during a courtesy visit by a support group, Booth to Booth with Bola Tinubu.

“As a party, if we are to have a credible primary in the state, all our stakeholders must be committed to a fair process,” Ganduje stated. “We told them that this time, business should not be as usual.
Let us support the system. We know they are very rich, but they should not use their money to scatter the state. Instead, they should invest in developing the state and strengthening the APC.”
He further expressed openness to a consensus candidate, saying, “If they can produce a consensus candidate, I will give them an award.”
On the mode of the primary, Ganduje noted that the National Working Committee (NWC), in consultation with the party leadership, would decide whether to adopt direct or indirect primaries.
Support Group Seeks Indirect Primary Over Insecurity
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the group, Iyke Madu, urged the APC leadership to adopt the indirect primary mode due to security concerns in Anambra State.
“There is insecurity in Anambra, and even the state government has been unable to conduct local government elections because of this,” Madu stated.
“If the state government cannot hold its own elections, it will be difficult for a party that does not control the state to conduct direct primaries.”
He emphasized that the party’s constitution allows for indirect primaries and urged the NWC to consider it as the safer option.
