Ever young looking C.E.O of Africa Movie Academy Awards — Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, has surprised everyone as she announced her intention to step down as head of the academy after the 2014 edition happening in Bayelsa State this month.
Bola Aduwo of Dreamflite PR, who was in attendance at the AMAA nomination party, tells us that Anyiam-Osigwe made the announcement during her speech at the event.
‘My last speech for tonight is for a reason. Ten years as the CEO of AMAA, for me it is one of those important things I have been talking about. This year I will be stepping aside …because I need to go back to work in the creative industry and help improve on the economy of the African creative industries. This is AMAA, it is for Africans. It was founded for all of us to grow this industry around the world and be recognized,’ she reportedly said.
Before founding AMAA in 2004, Anyiam-Osigwe, a law graduate, worked as a talk show host and film producer.
