Saturday, 26th April 2025, marks a monumental and historic day for the people of Ogere Remo as the long-awaited Ologere Palace (Aafin Ologere) and the iconic Lipakala Cultural Centre will be officially commissioned.
Ogere will proudly unveil a majestic central palace symbolising unity, culture, and progress for the first time in living memory.

Facilitated by the visionary leadership of His Royal Highness Oba James Obafemi Saliu, the Ologere of Ogere and Arole Olipakala, the palace project began two years ago, immediately following his coronation. Ogere, a town steeped in history and tradition, had operated without a central or permanent royal residence for generations. Now, through the dedication of Kabiyesi and the generous contributions of well-wishers, citizens, residents, and organisations, that gap has been finally and gloriously filled.
The commissioning ceremony, set to take place at the Ologere Palace’s premises, will attract dignitaries, sons and daughters of Ogere, residents, friends, and well-wishers from across Nigeria and beyond. The event will also coincide with the 2nd Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Highness Oba James Obafemi Saliu, adding an extra layer of significance to the celebrations.

The Ologere of Ogere, fondly referred to by his people as “Arole Olipakala,” has demonstrated exceptional leadership since ascending the throne. Under his reign, Ogere has witnessed impressive strides in infrastructure, security, community empowerment, and cultural rejuvenation. Completing the Ologere Palace is a testament to his commitment to Ogere’s progress and pride.

In addition to commissioning the palace, the Lipakala Cultural Centre, which is dedicated to preserving and promoting the town’s rich heritage and traditions, will be inaugurated on the day. As part of the celebrations, chieftaincy titles will be conferred on deserving individuals, recognising their contributions to the community’s growth and development.

The events leading up to this historic day have been equally remarkable. Earlier this week, on Tuesday, 24th April 2025, in commemoration of his 2nd Coronation Anniversary, the Ologere organised a series of empowerment programmes aimed at uplifting members of the Ogere community. Selected individuals benefited from various support initiatives to strengthen livelihoods and inspire hope.

Kabiyesi has championed several developmental causes throughout the past year, particularly in enhancing Ogere’s security architecture. His notable contributions include donating operational vehicles to security agencies and constructing strategically located security posts, reinforcing safety and peace within the community.

Tomorrow’s commissioning is not just the unveiling of bricks and mortar; it is the celebration of a dream long nurtured by the people of Ogere, now realised under a king whose vision, humility, and passion for his people have rekindled a spirit of unity and pride.
As we look forward to the festivities, we are grateful to all who contributed to the realisation of the palace project—from the indigenes and residents to various associations, families, friends, and organisations. Their combined efforts have written a new chapter in Ogere Remo’s proud history.
This moment marks a new dawn for the town, blending royalty, heritage, and community development. Under the steadfast leadership of the Ologere, Ogere’s future shines brighter than ever.
Kabiyesi ooo! Kade pelori, ki bata pe lese!
Long live the Ologere of Ogere!
Long live Ogere Remo!
