The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a stern warning to some of its members accused of openly supporting Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that such conduct will no longer be tolerated.
This was contained in a statement released on Wednesday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Olawale Sadare.
The warning follows reports that certain APC members had recently commended Governor Makinde for what they described as his good performance in the state—a development the party says undermines its plans to reclaim power in the 2027 elections.

Sadare, speaking on behalf of the party, described these APC members as self-serving politicians who are sabotaging the party’s efforts to wrest control of the state from the PDP.
“The APC will not continue to condone acts of indiscipline and betrayal from individuals who claim to be members of our great party but turn themselves into praise-singers for the current PDP administration,” the statement read.
Sadare accused the affected individuals of secretly working for the ruling PDP while pretending to be loyal APC members.
“We have done our diligence and established that some of those parading themselves as APC chieftains are, in fact, working for the PDP in recent times. Their actions are shameful and lack justification, but we will engage them as democrats, believing that they may have been misinformed or misled,” Sadare stated.
He further criticized the PDP-led administration under Governor Makinde, accusing it of squandering state resources over the past six years and mortgaging the future of the state.
“But for selfishness and poor orientation borne out of indiscipline and myopia, no reasonable member of the APC would turn themselves into a propaganda machinery for an administration that has wasted enormous resources on frivolities and inanity,” Sadare said.
The party maintained that all genuine APC members must work in unity and loyalty towards the common goal of reclaiming the state in the 2027 general elections.
