The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of a Chinese national, Mr Chen Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Limited, located in Ogere, Ogun State.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, describing the development as a major breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to combat violent crimes in the state.
According to Adejobi, the case was initially reported to the Ogere Divisional Police Headquarters on January 12, 2025, following a distress call from the company.

Officers who responded to the scene found Wang’s lifeless body in his office with multiple stab wounds to his chest.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that two factory workers—20-year-old Salma Peace Danladi and 25-year-old Yinusa Abdulahi Jonah—were responsible for the brutal killing,” the statement read.
The suspects, believed to be lovers, reportedly took advantage of the reduced number of staff on duty that day to carry out the attack. Jonah, from Borno State, and Danladi, from Taraba State, were on overtime duty when they allegedly deactivated the company’s security systems and gained unauthorised access to Wang’s office.
“They stole the keys to his residence from his pocket, later broke into his home, and carted away an undisclosed sum of money before fleeing Ogun State,” Adejobi said.
Following months of intensive, intelligence-led investigations, operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran, Abeokuta, successfully tracked down the suspects to Plateau State, where they had been hiding under false identities. They were apprehended on July 14, 2025.
Commending the feat, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, praised the Ogun State Police Commissioner, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, and his team for their professionalism and determination in resolving the case.
“The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in its commitment to safeguarding all residents—Nigerians and foreign nationals alike—through proactive policing and precise investigative approaches,” the IGP stated.
The suspects are currently in police custody and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
