Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has said that he cannot guarantee that he’ll get a new No. 9 this summer. Recall that MUFC is currently looking for a striker and has been linked with Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
Speaking during an interview with the press, Amorim revealed that he would be happy if he had to start the season with the squad he currently has.

According to him, MUFC needs to be careful with incomings henceforth, so if the right players are not available, he is ready to work with what he has right now.
He stated that current strikers like Zirkzee and Hojlund are still available to help the team, stressing that he only needs to improve the connection between them.
“I think our club in this moment, we need to be really careful when we sign a player. So if we have to start the season with this squad, I’m happy. Because all the players that are here want to be here.
We have Josh [Zirkzee], we have Rasmus [Hojlund] so our focus is to improve the connection between them. I don’t know if the positions are there for them. They have to work,” he said.
Speaking further, the Portuguese manager maintained that the club will only sign players who are willing to join, like Cunha and Mbeumo.
He concluded by saying that both signings were chased by good clubs in the UCL, but they still chose Manchester United.
“They have other players that are fighting for that position. The best thing is that they [Cunha and Mbeumo] chose to be here.
They had other options, Champions League options. And they read everything people say about our club in this moment. But they chose to be here and that is a key point for me,” he added.
