The Presidency has accused former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of peddling falsehoods in his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, made the allegation during an appearance on Channels Television on Wednesday, where he faulted the approach of opposition leaders to national discourse.
Bwala claimed that the opposition has failed to present constructive alternatives or coherent policy proposals, particularly on key issues affecting the country.

“Opposition cannot come here and talk about malnutrition, you know why? They don’t have the ideas,” Bwala said. “Till today, the opposition has not come up with any policy issues to say President Tinubu is wrong and this is how it should be. Listening to them, the person who came close in discussing policy is Peter Obi.”
However, he accused Obi of relying on inaccurate information to attack the government, stating: “Unfortunately, Peter Obi is doing ‘catch and carry.’ Whenever you subject what he says to forensic analysis, it always comes out as falsehood.”
Bwala insisted that constructive engagement, rather than what he described as baseless criticism, was necessary for Nigeria’s democratic progress.
