The All Progressives Congress (APC) has demanded the cancellation of the ongoing by-election for Shanono-Bagwai constituency and the rerun election in Ghari constituency of Kano State.
APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the call in a statement on Saturday, citing widespread violence and disruptions allegedly orchestrated by armed thugs in several polling units.

He alleged that voters were forced to abandon polling areas following the attacks, while security personnel deployed to the constituencies were overwhelmed.
Morka argued that under such circumstances, the credibility of the electoral process could not be guaranteed.
“The scale of violence and the level of disruption witnessed today make the conduct of a credible election impossible,” he stated.
The APC therefore urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel the elections, insisting that the process had been compromised.
