Liverpool manager Arne Slot has said that the club will keep trying to improve the squad before the transfer window closes. He recently refused to be drawn on whether the club will move to sign Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak before next week’s deadline.
Speaking to the press, Slot shared that the aim is to bring in players who can help raise the team’s level.

According to him, he has no complaints with the club’s transfer dealings thus far, but if the opportunity comes to strengthen the squad further, Liverpool won’t hesitate.
He stated that with 4 days to go, anything can still happen before the transfer window closes.
“As always, we try to sign players that can help but there is no reason to complain after the first two games that we need more.
But if we can strengthen, we will, if it is the right money and the right player. But there are only four days left so let’s see if we do something,” he said.
Slot further noted that the season is still early; therefore, there is room for mistakes that can be corrected as the campaign progresses.
He, however, concluded by saying that even if Liverpool drops a few points early on, the team must remain competitive.
“You do play better later in the season so you can lose ground [early] but not a lot.
Although, I would be surprised if there will be a points record and a team gets more than 100 points because of the strength in the league.
So you are able to drop a few points and still be competitive. But the best thing is not to drop points,” he added.
