Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has said that he dreams of following in Lionel Messi’s footsteps by winning multiple Ballon d’Or awards. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he believes he has what it takes to win several Ballon d’Or awards as a player, and he’ll only have himself to blame if he doesn’t achieve that before retirement.
Yamal, however, added that while individual awards are important from time to time, winning more titles with the team is also key.
His words, “I don’t dream of winning one Ballon d’Or, but I dream of winning many of them.
I believe I am a player capable of achieving that, and if I don’t achieve it, it will be because I didn’t do things the right way, not because I didn’t want to.
So, I dream of having many of them, and when the day comes that I get there, I will be very happy, but I will keep winning more and winning with my team and everything.”
