Mykhailo Mudryk’s old club Shakhtar Donetsk has come out to defend the young forward amid his doping ban. The club’s sporting director, Dario Srna, recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the 24-year-old is completely innocent amid his doping scandal, and he deserves full support from Chelsea, his family and football fans.

Dario added that Mudryk’s relationship with Shakhtar Donetsk has remained solid despite his exit a few years back.
His words, “When we speak about Mudryk, we don’t think about the money, we speak about the human being. We feel so sorry for him.
We know he is 100 per cent innocent – he will show that. We support him like an ex-player, a human being and a friend. We don’t think the money is important.
I don’t know where that information [about potentially suing the UAF] came from. It’s nonsense. This idea has no basis whatsoever.
I remain hopeful that this process with Mudryk will be resolved as quickly as possible, and that he will return to the pitch to continue his career. From time to time, I’ve spoken with Mudryk on the phone, and we’ve even met a couple of times in London.
We maintain contact because he is our academy graduate and a high-profile player. Our relationship has always been good, and I felt it was important to support him morally during this period.”
WOW.
Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, West London. Founded in 1905, they play their home games at Stamford Bridge.
The club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. They won their first major honour, the League championship, in 1955. The club won the FA Cup for the first time in 1970, their first European honour, the Cup Winners’ Cup, in 1971, and became the third English club to win the Club World Cup in 2022.
On 7 May 2022, Chelsea confirmed that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss, to acquire the club. The group was later known as BlueCo.
The UK government approved the £4.25bn takeover, ending Abramovich’s 19-year ownership of the club. Bruce Buck, who served as chairman since 2003, was replaced by Boehly, while long-serving club director and de facto sporting director Marina Granovskaia left, as did Petr Čech from the role of technical and performance advisor.
