SUNNYVALE, CA–(Marketwired – Jun 5, 2014) – Blue Coat Systems, Inc., the market leader in business assurance technology, today announced that Jana Whitcomb, vice president, North America channel and service providers, has been named to the 2014 CRN Women of the Channel. The annual list highlights the accomplishments of female executives within vendor, distribution, and solution provider organizations, and the impact they are having on the advancement of the IT channel industry as a whole.
Last year, Blue Coat promoted Ms. Whitcomb to drive the company’s North America channel strategy. At the same time, the company united its channel partner and service provider programs under her leadership to better serve customers that increasingly want to leverage managed services as part of their deployments.
“This last year has been one of transformation for Blue Coat with four acquisitions and continued aggressive revenue growth in the market,” said Ms. Whitcomb. “Our partners have played a key role in our growth, and I am committed to delivering the incentive programs, training and enablement that will help them reach new levels of success this year.”
Working as a sales person for Otis Elevator in California’s Silicon Valley, Whitcomb discovered high technology and quickly went from elevators to software after joining Oracle Corporation. Today, Whitcomb is focused on building enablement programs to train Blue Coat partners how to leverage Blue Coat technologies with our ecosystem of partners. “Our overall goal is to empower our partners to be successful and grow with Blue Coat,” said Whitcomb.
“Jana’s strong leadership, along with her passion for making our channel partners successful, are the driving forces behind our success in the market,” said Marc Andrews, senior vice president of worldwide field operations at Blue Coat Systems. “As Blue Coat continues to execute on its growth agenda by empowering businesses through security, Jana will play a key role in building strong relationships with our partners and executing our channel strategy.”
The Women of the Channel will be featured in the June issue of CRN magazine and online at www.crn.com.
