Veteran musician Salawa Abeni has come out to debunk rumours of her death. She recently assured her fans that she is very much alive and well, and Nigerians have been reacting.
In a clip shared on Instagram, the singer appreciated her family and friends for their love and concern amid all of the untrue rumours.

Confirming that she is hale and hearty despite all of the troubling reports of her death, Salawa urged fans to disregard the false news.
She blasted blogs for constantly spreading falsehoods just to trend, stressing that it is shameful to see bloggers lying about her demise just to get some clicks.
“My family, friends, and fans home and abroad. Thank you so much for your love and concern. I am alive, hail, and hearty. Please disregard all the rumours. Some blogs will do the unthinkable just to trend. It is rather shameful. The Queen is fine and doing very well. May God bless you all ,” she wrote.
Singing in the video, the 63-year-old further noted that anyone wishing her dead would exit the world before her.
Popular for being the Queen of Waka, Salawa Abeni began her music career in the 1970s and became the first Yoruba female artist to sell over a million copies of an album with her debut “Late General Murtala Ramat Mohammed.”
Salawa is the latest Nigerian celebrity to refute rumours of death this year. Recall that Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu recently released a video saying he is “alive and well” after stories of his death spread online.
