President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s determination to confront poverty, criminality, and terrorism through a mix of security measures and socio-economic reforms.
Tinubu made the pledge on Saturday at the passing-out parade of cadets of the 72 Regular Course, Short Service Course 48, and Direct Short Service in Kaduna.
He was represented at the event by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

The President emphasised that military action alone cannot resolve Nigeria’s security challenges, stressing the need to address the root causes of instability, including poverty and unemployment.
“My administration has remained unrelenting in our resolve to provide a holistically safe society for all our citizens by implementing programmes and policies empowering Nigerians to combat poverty, criminality and terrorism,” Tinubu said.
He noted that without tackling the underlying drivers of insecurity—such as poor innovation, lack of jobs, and economic disintegration—the efforts of security agencies would not yield lasting peace.
According to him, the government is simultaneously prioritising job creation, macroeconomic stability, improved investment climate, human capital development, poverty eradication, and social security under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He further explained that his administration’s 4D diplomacy strategy—anchored on promoting democracy, driving economic development, nurturing Nigeria’s demographic potential, and engaging the diaspora community—would reposition Nigeria as a leading global investment destination.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that his government is committed to transformative policies that would create opportunities, foster national stability, and ensure long-term security.
