A prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, Hon. Mohammed Bello, has announced his resignation from the party, describing the move as a step to “come out from bondage.”
Bello, a former senatorial aspirant for Yobe Zone A, confirmed his decision in a resignation letter addressed to the APC Ward Chairman in Gwange, Damaturu.
The letter, which was made public on Monday, stated that his resignation takes immediate effect.

“I am writing to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC) immediately,” the letter read in part.
The former APC stalwart explained that his decision followed deep reflection on his values and the current direction of the party.
“After much deliberation, I have concluded that it is in my best interest and that of my community to step away from the party at this time,” he said.
Bello expressed gratitude to the APC for the opportunities offered to him during his membership, noting that the relationships and experiences gained would remain valuable.
He also returned his party membership card along with the resignation letter.
He was accompanied by several of his supporters who also announced their exit from the ruling party.
