President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has urged Nigerian youths not to lose hope in the country, assuring that ongoing reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s administration will soon begin to yield positive results.
Akpabio gave the charge at an interactive session with All Progressives Congress (APC) youths tagged “An Uncommon Evening with the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio,” organised over the weekend in Abuja by the APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel.
He encouraged young Nigerians to remain optimistic about the nation’s future, stressing that faith, positivity, and personal responsibility were vital to national transformation.

“The world was not built in a day. If you feel discouraged about Nigeria’s future, do something about it. As a young person, you can change Nigeria by doing the right thing,” Akpabio said.
“The evil you see today, you shall see them no more. The poverty around you today, you shall see them no more. Just believe strongly and have faith in your country. Your time will come, and Nigeria will change.”
The Senate President urged youths to strengthen their mindset, adding that a strong and positive mind was essential for both personal and national progress.
“Believe in your mind that your country shall be better. Believe that you shall make it in life and that you will be the agent of change for your generation,” he added.
Akpabio described the APC as a party of transformation and stability, calling on the younger generation to take ownership of leadership responsibilities.
“APC is not an accident; it is a dream that was well thought out. It is a vehicle for change and leadership. You are not just leaders of tomorrow; you are leaders of today,” he said.
Responding to a question about his inspiration to join politics, Akpabio revealed that his entry into politics was driven by anger at societal conditions.
“Anger inspired me to go into politics. If you are not angry with the situation of your family or environment, you will not be able to change it,” he stated.
In his remarks, the APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, said the event was organised to allow young people to engage with the Senate President, learn from his experiences, and draw inspiration to become effective leaders in their own right.
