Former First Lady Michelle Obama has said that she doesn’t think Americans want her to run for president. She recently revealed that the U.S. citizens asking her to run for office are not being truthful with themselves.
During a live chat about her new book, “The Look,” Michelle said that America is not ready for any woman in the White House.
According to her, the last election that saw Donald Trump defeat Kamala Harris was all the proof she needed to know that the country is not prepared to have a female leader.
“Well, as we saw in this past election, sadly, we ain’t ready,” she said.
Mitchelle further noted that the people who are clamouring for her to be president only want to waste her time.
She concluded by saying that the reality is that a lot of American men are not ready to be led by a woman.
“That’s why I’m like, ‘Don’t even look at me about running, ‘cause you all are lying,’ You’re not ready for a woman. You are not. So don’t waste my time.
We got a lot of growing up to do, and there are still, sadly, a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman, and we saw it,” she added.
Her supporters have long hoped she would launch a presidential campaign, even before she and Barack Obama left the White House for a final time in 2017.
Social media posts and signs held up during the recent “No Kings” protests pleaded for the launch of a “Michelle 2028” campaign.
