Popular rapper Nicki Minaj has urged fans to be more understanding and supportive of Nigerian artists. She recently revealed that fans should show more support to the singers who have come under fire for their statements and actions in recent weeks.
Recall that Burna Boy, for example, sparked outrage after jokingly stating he desires “only rich fans,” while Yemi Alade faced backlash for protesting against potential American intervention in Nigeria‘s insecurity issues.

On top of that, several celebrities were blasted for posting content unrelated to the tragic events in Nigeria, including a deadly terrorist attack on a church in Kwara state and the kidnapping of school girls in Kebbi state.
Reacting to these sad developments, Nicki took to her social media platform to plead with Nigerians for wisdom before criticising Nigerian artistes.
According to her, when fans decide to apply compassion concerning matters related to Nigerian artists, they’ll realize that there are good reasons behind their actions online.
She concluded by urging Nigerian music lovers to learn to comprehend the reasoning behind the decisions of their artists, rather than judge their every move.
“My darlings, let’s utilize wisdom & compassion as it relates to our Nigerian artists. There are very logical reasons for most things when we look not to judge, but to comprehend.
That goes for every country & their artists. Let’s lift them & continue to use wisdom,” she wrote.
