Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party – Jigawa Forum in Jigawa State have advised former Governor Sule Lamido to consider defecting to another political party, citing the prolonged internal crisis engulfing the PDP in the state.
The advice was contained in a communiqué issued after a stakeholders meeting held at the PDP state secretariat, signed by the forum’s chairman, Hon. Ali Idris Diginsa, and made available to journalists.

The forum expressed concern over what it described as the party’s worsening internal disputes and the inability of the leadership to resolve lingering grievances.
The stakeholders also alleged that Lamido had been sidelined and unfairly blocked from contesting for the position of national chairman.
“What is happening in the party recently is exposing our weaknesses and shame,” the communiqué read.
The forum further referenced the recent confrontation at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja between Bala Mohammed and Nyesom Wike, describing the incident as “shameful and embarrassing.”
“The PDP is no longer a formidable national platform due to persistent divisions, distrust, and unending rancour among members,” the statement added.
Despite advising Lamido to seek a new platform, the forum reaffirmed its loyalty to the former governor and pledged support for any political decision he may take.
The stakeholders noted that Lamido remains the only surviving member of the historic G9 and G18 groups who never abandoned the PDP, even during the peak of the political wave of the former administration under President Muhammadu Buhari in the North.
“We urge our leader to seek a viable political platform that would allow his followers to pursue the dream of a greater Jigawa and Nigeria,” the forum stated.
Diginsa added that Lamido’s political relevance and grassroots following remain intact, insisting that the party must not lose a leader of his stature without taking responsibility for its internal failings.
