The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed attempts by Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa to reconcile former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and APC leader Abdullahi Ganduje, describing the move as politically deceptive.
In an interview with Hikima Radio in Kano, APC spokesperson Ahmad S. Aruwa alleged that Kwankwaso’s push for reconciliation was motivated by his desire to return to the APC and wrest control of the party from its current leadership.
Aruwa accused Kwankwaso of betraying political allies in the past, citing his actions against Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, which led to a shift from the APC to the PDP.

He also referenced similar incidents during their time together in the PDP.
“Kwankwaso’s intention to rejoin the APC is not genuine. It is simply a plan to regain control of the party at the expense of its current members,” Aruwa said.
The APC spokesperson dismissed Kofa’s role in the reconciliation efforts, claiming that he lacked the influence to mediate between Kwankwaso and Ganduje.
“Considering the achievements and political positions held by Kwankwaso and Ganduje, it is clear that Kofa is too insignificant to broker peace between the two,” Aruwa added.
He further argued that if any reconciliation efforts were to be made, the appropriate mediator would be Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, not Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa.
The APC in Kano reiterated its stance that there is no need for a political alliance with Kwankwaso, labeling the reconciliation efforts as unnecessary.
