Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Tuesday, November 25, presented a N1.39 trillion appropriation bill for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.
While presenting the estimate on the floor of the House in Jos, Governor Eno said the proposed budget is tagged: “The People’s Budget of Expansion and Growth.”
The governor disclosed that 25% of the total estimate is allocated for recurrent expenditure, while 75% is earmarked for capital expenditure aimed at stimulating economic growth and consolidating ongoing infrastructure development.

He further stated that N387.5 billion would be committed to roads and major infrastructure, including strategic projects spread across the state’s three senatorial districts.
Other critical sectors such as education, health, and support for SMEs also received strong budgetary consideration, according to the governor.
Pastor Eno noted that the 2026 revenue projection stands at N1.146 trillion, and appealed to the lawmakers for speedy consideration and passage of the appropriation bill.
He assured that the administration’s ARISE Agenda would continue to drive governance outcomes.
“Our achievements in two and a half years are inspiring,” the governor said.
“Let us remain united so our people can continue to thrive in this Land of Promise,” he added.
Responding to the presentation, Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong, described the annual budget ceremony as “a cornerstone of democratic governance.”
The speaker commended the impact of the ARISE Agenda, noting that it has “brought succour and renewed hope” to the people of Akwa Ibom.
He assured that lawmakers will carry out a thorough scrutiny of the budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources and prioritisation of developmental projects.
In his vote of thanks, the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Otobong Bob, described the fiscal plan as visionary and expansion-driven.
He commended the capital-to-recurrent ratio, calling it “a strong statement of development commitment,” and assured that the House would expedite the bill’s passage in the interest of the Akwa Ibom people.
