Popular British singer Jessie J has set the record straight on the inspiration behind her new diss track “Threw It Away.” She recently revealed that the song had nothing to do with her ex-boyfriend and Hollywood actor Channing Tatum.
In a since-expired Instagram Stories shared online, Jessie simply clarified that the moviestar is not the song’s subject.

According to her, while the song refers to her ex as a “beast,” she can confirm that it was not inspired by her time with Tatum.
Jessie stated that she never said the soulful track was about the actor, so people should stop insinuating such.
“Threw it away is NOT about @channingtatum. I NEVER said it was.
That’s funny. Yeah, I reckon there’s probably a little bit of that in there. But it wasn’t just about him.
I dated a lot of people when I was in L.A. and there were lots of men who were, like, ‘Yeah, ride on my motorbike and I’ll show you around,’ and then they just drop you off. That’s the negative of L.A,” she wrote.
The singer further noted that she felt compelled to speak out in defence of Tatum because he would do the same if the reverse were the case.
Jessie J concluded by saying that she ended her relationship with the singer on good terms, and he was never a beast to her.
“He is a Dad and an amazing one and I would never want his beautiful daughter to ever read any of it or be told about it thinking I said it about her Dad. Not fair.
Channing and I ended our relationship on great terms and I have nothing but respect for him, he was never a beast to me,” she added.
