Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed reports claiming that he has withdrawn from the 2027 presidential election, describing them as false and misleading.
Atiku, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, was alleged in some reports to have stepped aside for Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s flagbearer in the last election.
The reports also claimed that Atiku had endorsed a one-term presidency for Obi in the interest of regional balance.

However, Atiku’s Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, refuted the claims, branding them as fake news.
Reacting on Saturday, December 27, Ibe shared a screenshot of the report on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, with the caption: “Fake news: Not on the menu!”
Meanwhile, reports have also emerged suggesting that Peter Obi is planning to formally join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
