Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) risks failure in the 2027 general election if it does not field former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Fayose made the assertion on Monday during an interview on Arise Television, monitored by newsmen.
According to him, Obi remains the most influential political figure within the ADC and the party’s strongest asset ahead of the 2027 polls.

“Obi is the only person in ADC that matters. When Obi went to the Labour Party, which no one knew about, the party won elections to the House of Representatives,” Fayose said.
He, however, noted that Obi’s candidacy does not automatically guarantee victory but stressed that the absence of Obi on the ADC ticket would severely weaken the party.
“I’m not saying Obi will win this election, and I am not saying Obi cannot win this election. But I’m telling you that if ADC fails to field Obi, their case will be worse than their coming together,” he added.
InfoStride News recalls that Peter Obi, alongside other prominent political leaders from the South-East, recently defected to the ADC as part of a coalition arrangement ahead of the 2027 general election.
