Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Monday said Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, has “conquered” the state politically ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akpabio made the remark during an event in Jos, the Plateau State capital, organised to officially welcome Muftwang into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Describing the governor as the “newest bride” of the ruling party, the Senate President commended his performance in office and expressed confidence in his political prospects.
“The governor, the newest bride of the APC family in Nigeria, and the performing governor of Plateau State, my brother Caleb. I have only one word for you,” Akpabio said.
“Even in the Bible it says, Caleb we can go up to the mountain and conquer it. I want you to know that this moment means you have conquered the Government House in Plateau State again in 2027.”
Akpabio added that the event signified the consolidation of APC’s influence across the North-Central region.
“Congratulations in advance, your name shows nothing but conquest. It is important for us to know that today’s event is very significant. Significantly, today the North-Central region is complete,” he stated.
The Senate President also dismissed claims that the current administration is targeting any religious group, insisting that such allegations are unfounded.
