The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday said the ongoing electronic membership registration exercise has demonstrated Nigerians’ confidence in the ruling party.
The party’s state Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, stated this in a statement, describing the e-registration initiative as a landmark achievement aimed at strengthening internal democracy, party cohesion and grassroots participation ahead of the next general elections.

According to Oladejo, the turnout recorded during the exercise and the adoption of the digital platform indicate increasing trust in the APC and its programmes.
“The overwhelming turnout and seamless adoption of the digital registration platform clearly demonstrate the growing confidence of Lagosians — and Nigerians at large — in the APC and its progressive ideals,” he said.
He noted that the exercise has expanded the party’s membership base while also providing what he described as a transparent and verifiable database reflecting the APC’s presence across wards, local government areas and constituencies.
Oladejo added that the initiative has enhanced internal democracy by giving both new and existing members equal opportunity to register formally and qualify to participate in party activities in line with its constitution.
“This inclusive approach reinforces fairness, participation and trust among members,” he stated.
He further said the requirement for registrants to possess valid Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and National Identification Numbers (NINs) helped safeguard the credibility of the process by preventing the enrollment of fictitious members.
According to the APC spokesman, the registration of over 10 million members nationwide underscores the party’s organisational strength and grassroots acceptance.
“Such a widespread and verifiable membership base speaks to the party’s acceptability, organisational strength and enduring connection with the grassroots,” Oladejo added.
