The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday confirmed that President Bola Tinubu has intervened in the ongoing political crisis between Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the state House of Assembly.
Wike disclosed this while addressing journalists in Abuja, stating that the latest intervention would be the final time the President would step into the dispute.
According to the minister, this marks the second time Tinubu has mediated in the rift between the governor and the Rivers State legislature.

His comments come amid reports that Tinubu, Wike and Fubara held a meeting on Sunday night at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
There were also claims that following the meeting, Fubara visited Wike at his residence in an effort to reconcile and resolve the lingering crisis.
Speaking on the President’s role, Wike said Tinubu’s intervention was in line with his responsibility as a national leader.
“He is very kind to the people of the state. If there seems to be any problem between the legislature and the governor, as a father he really has to intervene,” Wike said.
“This is the second time Mr President is intervening and I believe by the grace of God that this will be the last time Mr President will intervene. I have told them to obey Mr President and I know that they would not hesitate.
“And I know that the governor would carry out his own part to make sure that this is the final time that Rivers people will hear this kind of discord.”
The Rivers political crisis has drawn national attention in recent months, with stakeholders calling for reconciliation to ensure stability in the state.
