Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release Nnamdi Kanu in the spirit of national reconciliation.
Kanu, who is in Kuje Prison, is the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB).
Speaking while receiving Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Owerri airport on Friday, March 24, Okorocha said there is a need for Nigerians to unite against all odds.
The Governor said activities should be seen as youthful exuberance.
“What he is agitating for, is what others are agitating for too. But he used the wrong language and insulted leaders including myself. But this is the time for national reconciliation,” The Sun quoted Okorocha as saying said.
Osinbajo had stopped at the Owerri airport to continue his journey to Abia State where he was billed for a stakeholders consultation on the Niger Delta region.
