Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has reacted to rumours regarding Julian Alvarez’s long-term future at the club. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he is not inside Alvarez’s head to know what the player is thinking about the future, but he is clearly returning to the level expected of him on the pitch.
Simeone added that he is very happy with what the World Cup winner has given Atletico this season.
His words, “I’m not inside his head. I only see how he has played the last two matches, that he is returning to the level he always was and we need him in this way. Then, in his head I cannot be, but in what reflects in his work I am very happy with what he gives us.”
On his players form, “Because they are people and not every day we behave the same although we would like to. It is not a question of intensity nor of throwing games; I have been a coach for 20 years and another 19 as a player and I do not know any footballer who does not want to win and do it in the best way. The games we lost were for playing badly, there is nothing else.”
