Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has said that refereeing standard is getting worse in the EPL. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the way EPL referees have become too reliant on VAR is negatively affecting the standard of officiating in the best league in the world.
Shearer added that the foul on Amad Diallo was definitely a penalty if the same ref blew his whistle for the push on Cunha and Evanilson.
His words, “They [referees] are too reliant on it and it’s affecting the standard of refereeing now, and it’s not a good look.
You should have given a penalty when you gave two like that. How on earth do you not give another one.”
