Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday stormed a residence belonging to former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in Abuja, forcing occupants to vacate the premises.
Sources said the incident occurred shortly after a visit by former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, to the Maitama residence. He was said to have spent about an hour at the property before departing.
An aide to Atiku confirmed the visit, while a witness disclosed that DSS operatives had already surrounded the house during the meeting but only moved in after the former vice-president left, according to reports.

The development comes amid growing political tension, with increasing pressure on opposition figures such as Malami to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Critics have accused President Bola Tinubu of attempting to weaken opposition voices ahead of the next general elections, an allegation the presidency has denied.
Malami has in recent weeks been facing trial over alleged corruption, a case some observers believe may be politically motivated.
Atiku had earlier shared photographs from his visit to Malami but did not comment on the reported DSS operation.
As of the time of filing this report, the DSS had yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
