Governor Umo Eno has outlined ongoing reforms and strategic roadmaps by his administration to address the persistent epileptic power supply in Nigeria and Akwa Ibom State.
The governor attributed the current electricity challenges to low power generation across the country.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah, at the end of the governor’s March Projects Delivery Meeting held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the state government is actively engaging relevant power sector stakeholders to improve electricity supply.
“The Governor also addressed the state’s electricity situation, outlining ongoing reforms and clear roadmaps for Akwa Ibom State to take ownership of its power market,” the statement read in part.
Umanah further disclosed that the governor has directed the constitution of an inter-ministerial committee to drive the completion and commissioning of Youth Friendly Centres across the state.
He added that ministries, departments, and agencies have been tasked to strengthen collaboration to ensure effective service delivery and timely execution of projects.
