Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, has stated that no political science degree could have provided the level of practical knowledge she has gained and continues to acquire as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Yesufu, who is also the co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement, made the remark in a statement shared via her verified X handle on Saturday.
InfoStride News recalls that the activist joined the ADC on December 31, 2025, shortly after the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, defected to the party.

According to her, active participation in party politics has exposed her to the realities of power dynamics beyond what is taught in formal education.
“The things I am learning just by being a registered member of ADC, no political science degree would have taught me those things and I love it.
“Political parties are where the real power brokering takes place. Joining ADC is the best decision I have ever made,” she said.
Meanwhile, Yesufu had recently advised opposition leaders, including Obi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to adopt practical campaign strategies that directly address the economic hardship faced by Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
She noted that worsening poverty levels have shifted citizens’ priorities toward immediate survival rather than political messaging.
