The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated its official website with the names of newly recognised members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Among those listed are Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, alongside other members of the party’s national leadership.
Both officials were elected during the PDP National Convention held late Sunday night in Abuja, an exercise that has since sparked controversy following claims and counter-claims by rival factions within the party.

The development comes amid disputes over the legitimacy of the convention, with different groups contesting the outcome.
INEC’s update is being interpreted by political observers as a significant move that may signal recognition of the leadership list submitted to the electoral body.
The update also comes against the backdrop of ongoing internal tensions within the PDP, as some stakeholders are reportedly exploring legal options to challenge the outcome of the convention.
With the next general elections approaching, the party is expected to continue grappling with internal challenges over its leadership structure.
