FIFA president Gianni Infantino has doubled down on his commitment to see Iran compete in the 2026 World Cup. He recently had his say despite the escalating military conflict involving the United States, and fans have been reacting.
Expressing confidence that he expects Iran to participate in the upcoming World Cup, Infantino noted that the ongoing war with the United States and Israel would not force a change in plans.

Gianni added that he has already spoken to Iran coach and players, and everyone is excited.
His words, “Iran will be at the World Cup. That’s why we’re here. We’re delighted because they’re a very, very strong team, I’m very happy. I’ve seen the team, I’ve spoken to the players and the coach, so everything is fine.
Iran’s matches will be played where they are supposed to be, according to the draw.”
WOW.
