Roberto Mancini’s former colleague Attilio Lombardo has said that the Italian coach owes the national team a favour. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, it is obvious that the present state of Italian football is inferior to that of other nations, and only a top manager like Mancini can fix that.

Lombardo added that Italy having very few talented young players in the Serie A was always a recipe for disaster.
His words, “No one expected us to miss out on the World Cup for the third time in a row; I’m very sorry about that.
I believe that the current state of Italian football is inferior to that of other nations; we have far too few talented young players who are regulars in Serie A and Serie B.
I hope Mancini can return to the national team, because I believe he has a debt to repay: I know he’d like to return to the Azzurri, just as he’d like to return to Sampdoria.”
WOW.
