Liverpool Was Right To Sell Luis Diaz – Carragher

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has fiercely defended the club’s decision to sell Luis Díaz to Bayern Munich. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, despite the significant controversy sparked by the Diaz’s departure, Liverpool were right not to turn down the good money Bayern offered to sign the Colombian.

Carragher added that £70m for the 28-year-old winger was a very good deal for the Reds.

His words, “Liverpool weren’t wrong to sell Díaz, but we certainly miss him. He was a very special player, and we were always going to miss him because he performed brilliantly for the team. But in football, sometimes offers come in that you can’t turn down, and at the time, it was a very good deal for Liverpool.

Bayern Munich were in disarray after missing out on Florian Wirtz, who joined Liverpool, and Jamal Musiala’s injury at the Club World Cup. They desperately needed a winger, so they paid about £70m for the 28-year-old Diaz, so the deal as a whole was a win for Liverpool.”
