EFL pundit Sam Parkin has said that Coventry City will find it hard to retain Frank Lampard’s services for their top-flight return. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the Chelsea legend’s stock has risen so high that there will surely be interest from bigger clubs in the summer.

Parkin added that Lampard deserves lots of praise for being super determined both as a player and a manager.
His words, “The biggest thing will be Frank Lampard still being there and I think the way Doug King has spoken about him, I think there will be interest in him.
He’s such a determined individual when he was a player and now as a manager, because he’s had a couple of knocks along the way, so I think there will be interest in him. The most important thing is that he’s there next season, and his staff that he brought with him.
They play good football, so they’ll probably be quite open. Whether Frank changes that to be a bit more defensively-minded and pragmatic next season, we’ll have to wait and see.
They’ll have to make a number of signings, that’s the downside. Sunderland are a good example of that and it’s kind of ‘thank you and good luck’ for some of them.”
WOW.
Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, West London. Founded in 1905, they play their home games at Stamford Bridge.
The club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. They won their first major honour, the League championship, in 1955. The club won the FA Cup for the first time in 1970, their first European honour, the Cup Winners’ Cup, in 1971, and became the third English club to win the Club World Cup in 2022.
On 7 May 2022, Chelsea confirmed that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss, to acquire the club. The group was later known as BlueCo.
The UK government approved the £4.25bn takeover, ending Abramovich’s 19-year ownership of the club. Bruce Buck, who served as chairman since 2003, was replaced by Boehly, while long-serving club director and de facto sporting director Marina Granovskaia left, as did Petr Čech from the role of technical and performance advisor.
